We're Expecting!

Joey and I went to dinner at "our restaurant" for one more date night before I started teaching again (or so Joey thought). He had just completed his anual physical fitness assessment for the Sheriff's Office, so I told him I had gotten him a gift for doing so well. Once we got to dinner, I gave him his congratulations card and gift. He opened up a baby book and bib. There was a look of complete confusion for about 2.2 seconds before he wrapped his mind around what this meant. The look of confusion instantly became a look of surprise and pure joy. It felt so good to finally tell him the news since our work schedules were not conducive to breaking the exciting news for three days! Baby K is due April 24, 2010!


It was great to finally see the little heart beat and even hear it at 7 weeks! Amazing!


When we went back for our next doctor's appointment at 12 weeks, the little guy was not cooperating and the doctor could not find the heart beat with the doppler device, so he sent us for another ultrasound so we could see the heart beat. What a difference 5 weeks makes! And boy, was he moving around!


We had a scheduled ultrasound just one week later, so we were able to see him again at 13 weeks for a routine test. We got a really good picture of his little legs kicking around. The ultrasound technician told us she thought he looked like a boy--we will see if she is right in another couple months!

Our Kids

Kimo was my Christmas present 2007. Joey brought him in all wrapped in a box and everything!





We decided Kimo needed a little sister, so Naia was added to our family March of 2008.






Kimo and Naia are inseparable! They add so much enjoyment to our family and keep us entertained every day.

Kaleikini Wedding-July 26, 2008

Since Joey and I both love the beach, we decided a beach wedding would be most appropriate. We were engaged at sunrise, so sunset would make the perfect back drop for our ceremony. We found the perfect beach house near our home and decided to have a small wedding right there in the backyard. The day was everything and more that we could have imagined...

Thank you to my parents for hosting the event at the amazing beach house. Dad, you did a great job at setting up the backyard for the event. It was perfect! We love you guys!

It was important to us to have a Lei Ceremony in our wedding. Joey's mom did a great job of ordering them and shipping them to us all the way from Hawaii. Thank you! We love you!

Thank you to Marc and Amy for being great photographers! Marc took amazing pictures and Amy did an excellent job of putting our wedding album together! I love it!

We had the best DJ I've ever seen--and he was our friend's dad! Thank you for making the trip from the east coast and making our wedding and reception so much fun, Chill! We have such great memories!

Joey's cousin, April and her soon-to-be-husband, made it all the way from California. Thank you for making the trip! We look forward to watching you two say "I DO" in a few weeks!

Although we were not able to have all of our family and friends with us on this day, we want to thank you all for being with us in spirit and keeping us in your prayers. We love you guys!

Our Engagement

Joey went to visit his family in Hawaii for two weeks in February 2008. I stayed here in Florida since I had to go to work. I was able to join him out there for a long weekend at the end of his visit. We packed in as much as possible those 3 days--snorkeling, beach time, Dole Pineapple Plant, North Shore...

We planned on watching the sun rise the last day we were there. So, we got up early and drove to a nearby mountain on the coast of Oahu. We hiked up the side of the mountain and found a spot to sit and watch the sun rise over the water. As we were watching, Joey surprised me by pulling a ring out of his backpack and asking me to marry him! I was ecstatic! We spent some time sight-seeing at the top of the mountain and even witnessed the migrating hump back whales before we made our way back down the side of the mountain.
