Koa Turns Three Months

A lot happened on Koa's three month birthaversary. Not only did I go to work for the first time (I had a four day training to attend), but Joey and I celebrated our two year anniversary, and Koa decided to roll over for the first time. Thank goodness Joey was quick with the video and was able to email me a video of his first roll over. Yes, I was at the computer at work watching my son roll over for the first time!


Joey's dad and his wife, Christine, sent Koa an awesome box from Hawaii. He loves his new activity mat and I can't wait until he grows into the adorable outfits! I'm sure that will be any day now!


Koa took his three month picture on his football blanket (he had his one month and two month picture taken on the same blanket). He likes holding his arms out in front of him. Joey and I think it looks like he is riding his motorcycle!


Joey and I celebrated our two year anniversary by going out for a three hour dinner just the two of us at our favorite restaurant, Timpano's. Since we ordered our wedding cake from Publix, we are able to get a smaller version of it every year to enjoy.

Beach Bungalow Weekend

We went to Siesta Key this weekend. Joey's mom, Mabel, got us a little beach bungalow to stay in for two nights for our anniversary. (I can't believe we will be celebrating two years at the end of the month!) We enjoyed short trips to the beach, great food at some of our favorite beach restaurants, and the pool. Saturday, Mabel spent the afternoon with us. Justin and Ashley met us at the beach Sunday after we checked out of the bungalow. We were expecting another short trip for Koa, but he rocked it out for a few hours. He even took a nap under his cabana.

First Beach Day

Joey and I really enjoyed watching Koa experience the beach for the first time. We decided to go to dinner at Frenchy's on the water, and that idea turned into a perfect evening. We got to the beach around 4:30 and were able to enjoy the breeze and a little sun before dinner. We waited for a table and ended up with one right on the beach. The sunset was amazing! It was probably one of the better ones we have seen since there weren't any clouds on the horizon. Koa dines oceanside for the first time. Daddy dug Koa a seat to sit in--he loved it! Thumb Sucking

On July 2, Koa decided his left thumb tasted pretty good. He is now officially a thumb-sucker. Joey and I love it since he is able to soothe himself without the use of a pacifier. Joey is excited that he has chosen his left thumb since he is convinced that sports will come easier to him if he is a lefty. And since I am the only left-handed person in my family, I am hoping he will be the second!

Bath Time and Four Legged Children

Koa absolutely loves bath time and Joey and I have really enjoyed playing with him during his bath time.

Kimo and Naia are so happy that Koa fits onto their napping schedule. They are being so good with him and haven't shown any signs of jealousy. I know they are going to be pumped when Koa starts eating solid food: instant best friends!

There is a direct correlation between the quality of Kimo's nap and the length of tongue sticking out of his snout! As you can see, this was a pretty good one!

Happy Independence Day

Joey had to work the Brandon Parade this year, so Koa and I decided to actually go to the parade and see what it was all about. Plus, we were hoping to see Daddy and get a picture with him! The rain held off long enough for us to enjoy about half of the parade before we ran to the truck for cover. Poor Daddy had to stay in the rain until the parade was over. The fireworks had to be rescheduled for the following night, so he did get to come home a little earlier than expected.

Koa has started to enjoy his bouncy seat again. He was really smitten with his lamb swing and didn't want anything to do with the bouncy seat for the last month or so. I put him back in the bouncy seat and added an additional toy for him to look at. He started "talking" up a storm to the monkey in his face. I tried to capture some of it on video.

May/June Happenings

One month today! (May 26)

At Koa's 6 week doctor appointment he weighed in at 9 lbs. 4 oz.

Just hanging out at the pool with Mommy and our friend Alyssa. We enjoy hanging out at the pool with Ashley too, but she has been in Omaha attending the College World Series--lucky duck!

Koa got a new hat at the Ellenton Outlets.

Koa turns 2 months (June 26) We happened to be in Atlanta for Willie and Lindsey's wedding.

We were blessed with new friends at our Labor and Delivery classes. We still keep in touch and get together about once a month. It is so much fun getting together since all of our babies are so close in age. This month we went to the Florida Aquarium.
