Auntie Katie's High School Graduation

Koa took his first plane ride to Ohio to meet his Auntie Katie for the first time and celebrate her high school graduation with her. He was also able to meet many of his extended family.

We were very surprised at how easy it actually was to travel with Koa and all of his gear! Gone are the days of me, Joey, and two carry-on bags! Koa did a great job on his first flight even though we were delayed out of Tampa due to mechanical issues. We were on the plane for an extra hour and a half waiting to take off. So, we missed our connecting flight and were forced to stay the night in Atlanta. Air Tran did put us up for the night at a nice hotel, but by the time we checked into our room, it was 1:00 am and we had to get up at 5:30 to make our flight out! Koa rolled with the punches and did great!



He turned 1 month old while we were on the flight to Atlanta, so we took his picture when we got to the hotel room. You can see that he was so glad to be able to stretch out!

Grandma and Grandpa took us hiking at the Glen. This brought back a flood of memories since we used to go as kids with all of our aunts, uncles, cousins, and grandparents!

Daddy's Softball Tournament

Joey plays on a tournament softball team. They try to play at least one tournament a month, and I have really enjoyed watching them play and getting to know the team. These tournaments usually end up being all day events--sometimes weekend events! I actually spent most of Koa's due date sitting at one of these tournaments in St. Pete! We missed one tournament because it was only one week after Koa was born. But, Joey was back on the roster just 4 weeks after Koa's birth and we were there to cheer him on! Koa slept in his stroller, woke up to eat, cheer for his dad for a little bit, and back to sleep! The team did excellent all day and then lost in the finals to take 2nd overall. Good job, Tilted Kilt Intensity!

Bath Time

We decided to see how Koa likes the big bathtub. Let's just say this is one of his favorite activities. He really likes being in the water up to his ears! We can't wait to get him in swim lessons--looks like he is really going to enjoy the water (just like his mom and dad)!

A Visit from Cousin April

We were so glad April was able to come visit Koa when he was just 3 weeks old all the way from California! We did lots of fun things like take Koa to his first Rays game and enjoy friends and music at Circles, a restaurant on the water.

Mother's Day

My first Mother's Day was perfect! We went to church for the first time as a family of three--Koa was only 2 weeks old! After church, we went to Hyde Park to enjoy the sidewalk chalk art. The pictures were amazing and it felt good just to be outside and going for a walk. Before we left, we enjoyed an appetizer at one of the outside cafes to wrap up the day. Koa got me some beautiful earrings--I am pretty sure he had some help from his dad picking them out! Thanks, Joey!! :)

Surprise Daycation

Joey was going to run a quick errand to turn in paperwork to get Koa added to the benefits. I really wanted to get out of the house, so I talked him into Koa and I riding along and grabbing lunch while we were out. So, off we went. Once we were in Ybor turning in paperwork, Joey remembered a little fish taco restaurant that he wanted to try. Lunch was excellent (even though they informed us they were out of steak and fish when we ordered--really, the FISH taco restaurant is out of FISH?). While we were enjoying our CHICKEN tacos outside, we saw the trolley go by. That got us thinking: Hmmm...I wonder where the trolley would take us. So, off we went. We purchased day passes, picked up a map, and proceded to look like tourists as we practiced assembling and disassembling the travel system as we transferred from trolley to trolley. We walked all around Ybor, Channelside, and Tampa and snapped pictures as we went. Six hours later, we made it back to our truck and headed home. We ended up turning an errand into a day we will never forget! Koa gets to eat in public for the first time--in the Tampa Convention Center! Pretty relaxing day!
