Koa's Grand Entrance

Koa's due date came and went. I was wondering if we were going to make it all the way to his "Eviction Date" and end up being induced. Koa had other plans. I followed my brother's advice and ate the hot salsa at Chipotle after picking up my dad from the airport the day after Koa's due date. Once we got home it was nap time for everyone. Koa woke me up from my nap at 4:15 and I told Joey that "it was time." My water broke. We knew this meant Koa would be here within 24 hours thanks to our knowledge from our labor and delivery classes! We gathered up the remaining items to pack in our bags and off to the hospital we went. All of the neighbors happened to be out in their yards, so we had quite the send off! Little did we know what we were in store for...28.5 hours later, Koa arrived! Joey did an excellent job of supporting me through the entire process, recording the details of the entire experience, and creating an amazing slide show. Enjoy!

Any day now...

Well, today's doctor appointment was uneventful--no changes yet. Apparently, Koa is in the perfect position but just not ready to move down any lower. Joey claims he is on Hawaiian time, so who knows when he will get here! Until then, we are enjoying our time together since I am no longer working. Today we went to the pool with our friends Justin and Ashley.

Koa's Nursery

Koa's Uncle Brian made him his name using a table saw and tools he inherited from our grandfather. I love the way they turned out! Thanks, Uncle Brian!

Koa's book shelf with his toys and books--we are looking forward to reading stories and sitting in the super comfy glider!

Now all we need are pictures of Koa with his family to put in his "Ohana" picture frame!

Joey collected the sand dollars on a scuba trip. I thought they would go with the underwater theme perfectly!

Now we are just patiently awaiting Koa's arrival. He is the last thing we need to complete the nursery!

April

April 1--Getting big!


April 9 was the last day I worked before Spring Break. Joey took me to Timpano's to celebrate. We have made this "our" restaurant for special celebrations. Joey took me there for our first date here in Tampa, we returned for our one year dating anniversary. This is also the place where I told Joey that we were expecting. We thought it would be appropriate to make it our last date night before we become a family of three! It was truely an enjoyable evening!

I made it to the pool 4 out of 5 days this week. The weather has been wonderful! I am enjoying this time of relaxing and resting up before Koa gets here. What an exciting time!

Koa's nursery is almost complete. We just need to hang the wall decorations. Once I get this accomplished, I will have pictures to post. We are so excited to welcome him into the world and show him his new home! Any day now!

March Baby Classes

Joey and I had a whirlwind month of baby classes! We attended 5 classes to learn about labor and delivery. We truely enjoyed the people in our classes and looked forward to every Wednesday night...so much so that we took pictures the last night and exchanged contact information! We also made it to a breastfeeding class, post partum class, and newborn care class--all in the same month!
