December

Grace Family Christmas

Our church had a family gathering where we did some crafts, watched a live nativity, and sang songs...ending with Silent Night by candle light. It was a fun night and Koa really enjoyed it!

Koa was coloring a gift bag. His favorite activity was decorating a gingerbread cookie!

The first Tuesday of the month is "Two Dollar Tuesday," so Becky and I decided to take advantage of the great deal (usually it would cost us $15 per adult and $9 per child). We were so pleasantly surprised to find out it was "FREE Tuesday" since it was the holidays! Yay! The boys had a blast...wish my camera hadn't died! But, here's what I did get...

I thought we were going to spend our entire afternoon doing yardwork!

He loved the Clifford exhibit and raking and shoveling!

Koa is checking the mail while Gaine does some yardwork.

Next stop: working at a restaurant!

Koa and Gaine decided they wanted to start their own band. They loved the Jamaican music (they kept pushing that button over and over while they drummed along with it)!

Koa still loves the boat!

They also really enjoyed the veterinarian play area. Koa loved taking care of the stuffed dogs and cats!

Walk Through Bethlehem

The church right outside our neighborhood creates a mini Bethlehem and takes the public on free tours through the city. Although I have grown up knowing the true story of Christmas, it was not until last year when we took the tour that I understood what it must have been like hearing the "rumors" of this miraculous birth of Jesus Christ.

We invited a few friends to come with us and tried to avoid the 3 hour wait that we endured last year by showing up at the earliest possible time. Unfortunately, they started handing out the tickets an hour before the tours began, so we still had almost a 3 hour wait. By this time, our friends had to go home and Joey, Koa and I were the only ones left (and Koa fell asleep right as we began the 30 minute tour). Joey and I still really enjoyed this very real reminder of "the reason of the season."

Koa passed out for the tour and walk home--Joey got a good workout!
